Parker 51 Rolled Silver Cap Set. 1952

Regular price £145.00

This Parker 51 fountain pen and pencil set in black with rolled Silver caps was made in England in 1952, the pen and pencil are clearly stamped with this date.

The rolled Silver cap is the most sought after of English Parker 51 caps.  The early 'R. Silver' imprint and the long gold clips are entirely consistent with the 1952 date.

The barrels and section are in superb condition with no marks and an excellent surface, the black contrasts very well with the silver caps.

The set has been fully serviced and is in excellent working order.  The aerometric filling system takes up a good volume of ink and the 14 Ct. Gold nib writes with a very smooth medium line, perhaps a little on the fine side.

The pencil is a rotary mechanism, operated by turning the cap to expel and retract the lead.  The eraser has broken off as it had hardened with age.  It is not recommended to remove the cap too often on these older pencils as there is a risk of damage to the mechanism, which is working well.

The box is not original but is a good quality Parker box and is in clean and sound condition with no ink staining.

Parker 51 sets with rolled Silver caps are, by no means, common.  They were only made in England in the early fifties and are very collectable.
