The Conway Stewart 106 was made from 1959 to 1968, so this pen is well over 50 years old. Finished in Black with a Gold filled clip and cap band, it has a 14Ct.Gold hooded nib, perhaps it was an attempt to emulate the Parker 51.
The filling system is a 'pressmatic', a simple but efficient 'squeeze bar' type filler. the pen has been dismantled, thoroughly cleaned, and fitted with a new ink sac.
At 13.4 cm. capped and 14.5 cm. posted, it is a good sized, slim pen with a good balance and feel. The 14Ct.Gold nib is a great writer, it lays down a smooth, consistent, medium to broad line.
The pen is in excellent condition throughout. It has a deep shine with a clear and sharp barrel imprint and bright Gold filling.
