Immaculate New Old Stock. 1961-1962.","description":"\u003cp\u003eThe \u003cstrong\u003eSheaffer Imperial I\u003c\/strong\u003e was only made in 1961 and 1962, a very short production run.  It was offered as a Touchdown and a cartridge filler, this pen uses a cartridge, a new one will be suppled with the pen. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe pen is finished in black with Gold filled trim and is in immaculate condition throughout, one of a batch of recently acquired new old stock pens.  The cap, a push fit, carries a Gold filled clip with the name 'Sheaffer'S' stamped longitudinally.  The last 'S' in the name was dropped by Sheaffer in 1964 so any pen with the 'Sheaffer'S' logo predates 1964. The inset nib was offered in unmarked 14Ct. Gold on the first cartridge pens.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe 'chalk mark' is actually stencilled on to the barrel in wax. It was intended as an aid to the retailer and was meant to be wiped off as the pen was sold. The marks are very fragile and would erode quickly as the pen is handled.
