Immaculate Condition.","description":"\u003cp\u003eThe Waterman Expert Mk.II was made from 2000 to 2013, when it was replaced with the Expert Mk.III.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis pen, finished in classic black lacquer over brass with 23Ct. gold plated trim, is in absolutely superb condition and coulld well be a new old stock pen. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe 2000 Waterman catalogue described the Expert Mk.II thus:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003e'The Expert has a reassuringly generous shape and is characterised by the originality of the design details.  The bevelled cap button and two gold electroplated cap rings perfectly contrast with the lacquered barrel'\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhat, I suppose, they took for granted was that the public did not need reassuring of the overall build quality of the pen.  This is examplified by the satisfying 'click' as the pen is capped and also posted on the barrel.  The clutch mechanism engaged the ring at the end of the barrel securely and prevents the cap rim from coming into contact with, and scratching, the lacquer on the barrel, an important detail for such a high gloss pen.  At 15 cm., (6 inches) in length  when posted for use it is a large, chunky pen with a solid, high quality feel.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFirst launched in 1988, the Expert not only survived but thrived and Waterman now seem to be banking on it as the main money earner.  From the current catalogue you can select from about 29 different Expert designs, the same pen in 'different clothing'\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Rollerball is currently the fastest growing of all pen types in terms of sales.  This is probably due to it's practcality and excellent writing characteristics.
