The Waterman Taperite name covers a range of pens made in the 1940s to 1950s. This pen is a high end model Taperite with a rolled Gold cap from the late 1940s.
Finished in dark green, it has been fully restored and tested and is in outstanding condition throughout. It is a lever filler and features the Waterman box lever system. Much more robust than a conventional arrangement, the lever is housed in a metal box which gives it more stability and prevents distortion of the barrel around the lever.
The 14 ct. Gold nib is a superb writer, laying down a very smooth and consistent medium, firm line.
The Waterman presentation box is of high quality, in excellent condition and matches the pen perfectly.
At over six inches in length when posted the pen is well balanced and comfortable to use. It is an exceptionally attractive and tactile fountain pen, not at all easy to find in this condition and colour.
