The Parker 17 De Luxe was introduced in 1965 as an upgrade to the standard version. It has a rolled Gold cap and 14 Ct. Gold nib, very similar to the Parker 51 Mk. lll.
This example, finished in Black, is in excellent condition, it has been fully serviced and tested. The cap has no dings or other blemishes and is clearly stamped:
'1/10 12Ct R. Gold'
signifying that the cap is 1/10th 12 Ct. Gold by weight. A black cap stud secures the Gold filled 'arrow' clip. The barrel and hood have an excellent surface, the imprint is worn but legible.
The aerometric type filling system works well and the 14Ct. Gold nib writes with a smooth, firm, fine line. The pen requires very little pressure, it will write under it's own weight.
The Parker 17 De Luxe is not a common pen by any means, one in such fine condition is quite hard to find. It is a very attractive, unusual, and practical pen, a good vintage every day writer.
