Parker 45 Arrow in Blue. Gold nib, boxed, and mint.

Regular price £50.00

The Parker 45, named after the Colt 45, was introduced in 1960. The 'Parker Arrow' version, this pen, was added to the range in 1962.  It is a testament to the sound, timeless design and functionality of the 45 that it remained, fundamentally unchanged, until 2008.  The coned cap stud, as on this pen, was replaced with a dimpled version in 1970 so this pen can be placed firmly in the 1960s.

This pen is in totally mint, unused condition throughout.  The surface is pristine and still carries the original 'chalk marks', these are very fragile and would have worn off very quickly if the pen had been used.  The marks describe the pen as a 'conv', for convertable, an early designation for a 45.  The polished chrome trim is similarly pristine.

The pen is presented in the original hard plastic box, a few scuffs on the edges, but otherwise in sound, clean condition.

I have inked the pen, once, for testing.  The 14Ct. Gold nib  writes with a super smooth, broad, consistent line.  It is a very 'easy' and comfortable writer, ideally suited for someone with a large, bold 'hand'.

The 45 is a cartridge filler, it is fitted with the original Parker metal ink converter and a new cartridge will be supplied with the pen so it is ready to write in either configuration..

The Parker 45 Arrow is very underated in many respects, not least in that it is a good quality, Gold nibbed pen with an excellent pedigree.  It is very difficult to find a perfect, mint example, such as this pen.

At around sixty years of age it would serve for many more years as a practical, attractive, and trouble free vintage every day user.
