Parker 51 Aerometric in black. 1950

Regular price £95.00

The Parker 51 Aerometric was introduced in 1948, replacing the Vacumatic filler version.  The long 'arrow' clip and the wording on the chromed filler sleeve date this example to 1950.

The pen is in superb condition throughout.  It is finished in classic black with a lustralloy cap, chrome plated clip, and pearl cap stud.  The finish is flawless and the cap is totally ding free.  The 'pli-glass' ink sac is unstained, suggesting that the pen has seen little use and has been correctly stored.

The pen has been fully serviced and tested.  The Aerometric filling system is easy to use and works well.  The 14 Ct Gold nib writes with a smooth, fine line.

The Parker 51 is often referred to as the best pen Parker ever made, it is certainly the most successful.  At over seventy years old this pen still has a great aesthetic appeal and a good deal of prestige.  It would make a first class vintage daily writer.
