The Parker Duofold Senior aerometric filler was only produced from 1954 until 1958, a relatively sort production run, always good for collectors. The nib carries a code dating this pen to 1954.
The pen is finished in classic black with a Gold filled, chevron engraved cap band and Gold filled clip. It is in excellent condition with only light usage marks. The cap is a smooth screw fit, it tightens securely with one and a quarter turns and carries a black cap jewel.
The pen has been fully serviced and tested. The aerometric filling system is easy to use and works well. The correct 14Ct. Gold No. 35 nib is larger than the standard Duofold nib and writes with a smooth, medium/broad line and is a very comfortable and 'easy' writer.
The pen is presented in a new, high quality box, it will serve well for transportation, protection, and display.
The Duofold Senior is a very large pen, 16.3 cm. (well over 6 inches), in length when posted for use. It is well balanced and has a solid, high quality feel. The classic black and gold combination was very popular as it conveyed a dignified, understated presence.
The Senior topped the line up of the Duofold aerometric models until the introduction of the Maxima. It is now very collectable and not at all easy to find in such excellent condition.
