The Parker Duofold Junior aerometric filler, this pen, was launched around 1960, although it had been around since 1953, when it was called a Parker Victory Mk.V. The two pens are identical, save the imprint.
Finished in classic black with gold filled trim, it is an impressive 15.8 cm. in length when posted, a good deal longer than the 'Standard' Duofold aerometric of the same period. It it odd that a pen called a 'Junior' is a longer version of the standard pen, perhaps Parker were desperate to lose the 'Victory' name and couldn't think of anything better!
The pen has a good finish, a legible imprint, and bright gold filling to the clip and decorated cap band. The filling system works well and is easy to use. The 14 Ct. Gold nib, the correct No.10, writes with a medium line and has a small but effective flex to add character to the writing.
The box and guarantee are original. there is the odd 'squiggle' on the box lid but it is in good condition and should be kept with the pen.
The Parker Duofold Junior is a high quality gold nibbed pen with an excellent pedigree, it compares very favourably with a new pen of the same specification at three times the price. It would make a first class vintage daily writer.
