This Parker Premier RT set comprises a fountain pen and a rollerball, identical until the caps are removed. The set is in first class condition and is supplied in it's original box with ink converter and two cartridges.
The premier is a large and extremely high quality pen with a great deal of presence. The 'RT' refers to 'Ruthenium Trim', the caps, nib, and sections are ruthenium coated, giving a very deep shine with a subtle dark tinge which complements the matt finish of the pen bodies perfectly. Ruthenium is one of the Platinum group of metals, it is hard wearing and doesn't tarnish.
The nib is splendid, it is marked as 18Ct. Gold, twice: 18K and 750. It finely engraved with longitudinal lines and ruthenium coated to match the gripping section.
The cap, also ruthenium coated, has a finely chiselled pattern and a 'stack of coins' band which is repeated in the cap and barrel studs. The caps are a screw fit to close the pens and post securely on the barrel in such a way as to prevent the cap lip making contact with the barrel, preventing scratching.
The Premier RT is a very substantial pen with the hard to define but distinctive 'feel' of a superior item. It represents pen making at its very best.
