Parker Victory Mk.IV. in Light Grey. Oblique Stub Nib. 1948-1952.

Regular price £125.00

The Parker Victory Mk. IV was made from 1948 to 1952.  It is an 'A.F' button filler type, the letters denoting an Aluminium Filler.  the cap rings on this pen are flat to the cap surface, indicating an early date, shortly after production started the bands were raised, as in the original 1920s parker Duofolds.

This example, finished in Grey, is in exceptional condition throughout, could well be new old stock.  I often don't ink old new stock pens but as this has a rather special nib I thought I should give it a try.  The pen has a first class surface and the sticker informing the retailer that it has a medium oblique nib is still in situ.

The filling system works well and takes up a good volume of ink.  The 14 Ct. Gold nib oblique stub point is similar to an italcic but it has more rounded 'corners' to improve the writing experience.  The left oblique configuration gives a 'ribbon' effect line width variation adding character to the writing.

The Parker Victory Mk. lV is, arguably, the best of the models bearing the Victory name.  The classic streamlined shape, tapered clip and deep Gold filling blend together to give a pleasing, uncluttered appearence.  At 15.5cm. when posted it is a long and elegant pen with a very solid, high quality feel.

The unusually bright grey colour, and exceptional condition of the pen make it very collectable but it would make an excellent every day writer.
