This Sheaffer 727S triple set comprises a fountain pen, ballpoint and pencil. The set is presented in the original luxury box and shows very little sign of use.
Finished in gold with finely engraved longitudinal lines, it is a strikingly attractive set carrying the Sheaffer 'White dot' sign of quality.
The fountain pen is a cartridge/converter filler, fitted with the original Sheaffer metal ink converter. It has a 24Ct. gold conical nib which writes with a smooth and consistent fine line, well suited to someone with a small 'hand' or for intricate work.
The ballpoint has been fitted with a new refill, as the original had dried with age. It features the Sheaffer 'reminder clip', a device which prevents the pen from being clipped to a shirt pocket with the point extended, preventing ink stains on the pocket. The pencil mechanism is activated by turning the cap.
Only made for a short period around 1972, the 727S is one of the less common of the Sheaffer models. It is difficult to do it justice with photographs but I've included eighteen of them in the attempt!
