This Wahl Eversharp pencil can be firmly dated to the 1930s. Up until 1929 the pencils were marked 'Eversharp', during the 1930s they were 'Wahl Eversharp', this pencil, then after 1940 they became 'Eversharp' again.
The pencil is heavily Gold plated, it is a bright and attractive vintage pencil, better 'in the flesh' than in the photos. It operates by turning the end finial to extend the lead which is is manually retracted.
An unopened packet of Eversharp leads is included with the pencil.
A full sized, working pencil at 13.5 cm. in length, it is in exceptional condition throughout, showing no dings, scratches, or other blemishes.
Mechanical pencils are once more becoming very popular again as convenient every day writers, this eighty odd year old vintage version is at least as good as any of the new ones and has a great deal more 'prestige'.
