Waterman Expert Mk.II in Black. Immaculate New Old Stock.

Regular price £75.00

The Waterman Expert Mk.II was made from 2000 to 2013, when it was replaced with the Expert Mk.III.

This pen, finished in classic black lacquer over brass with 23Ct. gold plated trim, is a new old stock pen in absolutely as new condition.  As with many old stock pens it came to me unboxed as the pen was meant to be matched with a box at the point of sale.  A new, high quality box is provided along with two new ink cartridges.

The 2000 Waterman catalogue described the Expert Mk.II thus:

'The Expert has a reassuringly generous shape and is characterised by the originality of the design details.  The bevelled cap button, two gold electroplated cap rings and a two tone nib perfectly contrast with the lacquered barrel'

What, I suppose, they took for granted was that the public did not need reassuring of the overall build quality of the pen.  This is examplified by the satisfying 'click' as the pen is capped and also posted on the barrel.  The clutch mechanism engaged the ring at the end of the barrel securely and prevents the cap rim from coming into contact with, and scratching, the lacquer on the barrel, an important detail for such a high gloss pen.

The Expert came in a variety of attractive finishes but the classic combination of black and gold is hard to beat for a distinguished, if understated appearance.
