Waterman's 4825V 'New Look'. 18 Ct. Gold nib. c.1946.

Regular price £110.00

Made in France and advertised, in 1946, as the 'Waterman's New Look', this pen was one of the new line of  'torpedo' shaped pens and the only one featuring the wrap over military clip.  Also known as the Waterman's Standard, it is a rare pen.

This pen is model number 4825V, it has a capped length of 12.2 cm. and an 18CT. Gold No.2. Ideal nib.  This pen is a lever filler, it was also made with a glass cartridge filling system.

The pen has been fully restored and tested, it is in first class working condition.  The surface is excellent and has a clear imprint:

Waterman's

Made in France.

The gold filled 'box' lever system provides a secure anchorage for the lever and reduces stress on the celluloid around the lever slot.  The gold filling is in good order, as is that on the military style clip and single cap band.

The nib is 18Ct. Gold, it writes with a super smooth, fin line and has a very pleasing 'soft' feel.  At 14 cm. capped, it is a very comfortable and 'easy' writer with a high quality feel.  The nib has been described as 'semi flexible', a little line width variation, from fine to medium, is available.

The Waterman's New Look pens were not made for very long and are now hard to find and very collectable.
