Conklin Glider in Pearl/Gold Stripes.

Regular price £55.00

Made for a short period after the end of the war, the Conklin Glider is one of the last high quality pens produced by the company.

The pen is constructed in a tough celluloid with a striking striped pattern.  The stripes appear to change from pearl grey to gold and back again as the pen is rotated. At 13.2 cm. capped and an impressive 15.7 cm. with the cap posted on the end of the barrel, it is quite a substantial 'chunky' pen.

The filling system has been overhauled and the pen fills well.  The steel nib writes with a very smooth and consistent medium to fine line.

The original gold plating to the clip is no longer present but that on the cap ring has survived well.  The celluloid has a brilliant finish and a clear barrel imprint.

The Conklin glider is not a common pen by any means and is quite collectable, this example would also serve well as a distinctive and reliable every day writer.
