Constructed in red hard rubber, this ring top pen features a high quality 'box lever' system, used by Waterman and others, possibly in an attempt to circumvent Sheaffer's 1908 patent for a lever filling pen.
The pen, which is unbranded, is very similar in size and proportions to the Waterman's 521/2V. The lever has an attractive 'lollipop' design with a 'wreath' motif.
The pen, which has has been restored and tested, is in excellent working condition. the filling system works well and the nib, stamped 'Warranted 14Kt' produces a smooth line and has enough flex to add character to the writing.
