The Parker 21 first saw the light of day in 1949. It is said that Parker, becoming fed up with other companies attempting to copy the Parker 51, decided that, as a company, they were best equipped to produce a '51 copy' at a competitive price and so entered the '51 copy' market themselves.
This pen is the third, and final iteration of the Parker 21, the 'Super' model, produced from 1956 to 1965. The pen has a 'halo' on the cap which was added in 1957.
Finished in green, one of the more hard to find colours, the pen is in 'as new' condition with no signs of use. It has a factory finish and a clear, unstained origina 'pli-glass' ink sac.
As with many new old stock pens, it came to me unboxed, pens were often only matched with a box at the point of sale. I have provided a new, high quality box that will serve well for transporataion, protection, and display.
The Parker 21 Super has the same 'ink collector' arrangement as the Parker 51, a feature which helped establish the pen's reputation as a first class writer.
Vintage pens in mint condition are always hard to find and very collectable. The reliability and writing abilities of the Parker 21 Super also make it a great choice as a vintage every day user.
