Parker introduced the 45, named after the Colt 45, in 1960. The 'De Luxe' model featuring Gold filled trim and 14 Ct. Gold nib was added to the range in 1967. It is a testament to the sound, timeless design and functionality of the pen that it remained, fundamentally unchanged, until 2008.
This set, comprising a fountain pen and ballpoint, is in totally mint condition and supplied with a fitted ink converter and two new ink cartridges, The ballpoint refill has been replaced, as the original had dried with age. The tag on the fountain pen clip is still in place, it cannot be removed without tearing, another sign that the pen is unused.
As with many new old stock pens the set came to me unboxed, the pens are only matched with a box at the polint of sale, which didn;t happen in this case. I have provided a new, high quality box.
Rage Red 45s are very scarce, particularly in mint condition, most of the pens listed are actually maroon. The last photo, this pen alongside a maroon pen, shows that the Rage Red is much brighter and more vibrant.
