The Parker Lady Insignia was introduced, as the top of the range pen, in 1967. It is constructed in 12 Ct. rolled Gold and has a 14Ct. solid Gold nib.
This pen is a fine example, it has no 'dings' and shows little sign of use. The satin lined parker box is also in excellent condition.
The Lady is an 'aerometric' filler, it has a 'squeeze-bar' filling system for use with bottled ink, which is efficient and easy to use. The 'pli-glass' ink sac is only lightly stained and still has good transparency enabling the ink level to be viewed.
The 14 Ct. Gold nib is enclosed in a 'hood' which keeps the it moist, gives good ink flow, and provides protection. It writes with a smooth, fine line, perfectly suited for someone with small handwriting or for more detailed work.
The Lady Insignia was considerably more expensive than the plastic versions of the pen so sold in far fewer numbers and is, consequently, much harder to find. It is a jewel of a pen.
