Parker Victory Mk. IV in Burgundy. 1952.

Regular price £95.00

The Parker Victory Mk. IV was made from 1948 to 1952.  It is an 'A.F' button filler type, the letters denoting an Aluminium Filler.  This pen carries a clear date code, stamped on the barrel, for the second quarter of 1952.  At 72 years old it's the last of the Victory Mk. IV pens.

The colour, described by Parker as 'Burgundy' is a very deep, rich brown.  The camera doesn't seem to register the colour correctly and it appears almost black in the photographs so I've included a photo of the pen alongside an identical pen in black for comparison.

The pen has been fully restored and tested.  This included a new ink sac and pressure bar but the nib was not disturbed although ultrasonic cleaning and pressure flushing ensured that all channels were clear.  After 70 years in situ it is often best not to remove the nib from the section without good reason.  The photograph shows the pen prior to sac trimming and reassembly.

The button filling system works well and the Parker 14 Ct. Gold Newhaven nib writes with a beautifully smooth, medium line and has a pleasing 'soft' feel.

The box is brand new, it will serve well for transportation, protection, and display.

The Parker Victory Mk. IV is, arguably, the best of the pens bearing the Victory name.  The classic streamlined shape, tapered clip, and deep Gold filling give the pen a pleasing, uncluttered appearance.  At 15.5 cm. in length when posted, it is a long elegant pen with a very solid, high quality feel.
