Very Rare Parker Lucky Curve Spoon Clip Pen in Spiral Brocade. c.1920

Regular price £345.00

The Parker Lucky Curve, a 'pre- Duofold' pen.  This version, featuring the unique 'spoon clip' was only made for a very short period around 1920.  It is an all metal pen, the barrel is constructed completely in metal rather than the more common overlay on to hard rubber.  This leaves more room in the barrel for a larger ink sac and improved capacity.

The pen has been restored and tested and is in excellent working condition.  The etched 'spiral brocade' pattern, only used on some of these pens, is still clear and sharp.  With the exception of a tiny pin mark on the cap end plate, the pen is ding free and bears no personalisation.  The button filling system works well.

The Lucky curve nibs were not imprinted with the gold content but it is very likely to be 14Ct. The pen writes with a very smooth and consistent fine line, and has a pleasant 'soft' feel not often found in nibs with a fine point.  At 11cm. capped and 13.2 cm. posted, it is on the small side but is very comfortable in use.

A true antique, the Brocade Lucky Curve pens seldom become available, most of the surviving pens are already in collections.  In terms of collectability, the pen meets all the criteria of age, quality, condition, and rarity.  It also works very well!
