The Parker Duofold Lady De Luxe, identified by the extra wide rolled Gold cap band, was introduced in 1923. By 1925 Parker was moving away from hard rubber into a hard plastic which they called 'Permanite', this is a hard rubber version, dating it to c.1924.
The pen has been restored and is in excellent condition. The hard rubber shows no signs of oxidation and has a good, deep shine, the rolled Gold band has held up well. A new ink sac and replacement pressure bar have been fitted and the button filling system is efficient and easy to use.
The 14Ct. Gold nib, stamped 'Duofold. Made in U.S.A.' delivers a firm, fine line. It would particularly suit someone with small handwriting or to be used for more detailed work
The pen is 11.6 cm. in length when capped but with the cap posted for use it is a very comfortable 14.3 cm., the measurements exclude the ring and retainer.
At about a hundred years old and in such outstanding condition the Lady is clearly a collector's piece but it is also a fully functional and quite practical pen.
