Parker Duofold Junior in Red. Fine nib. 1926-1928

Regular price £175.00

Introduced in 1921, the Parker Duofold revolutionised the fountain pen industry and quickly established Parker as a world leader in pen production.  This Parker Junior can be dated between 1926, when the pens were made form 'Permanite' to 1928, with the introduction of the later 'Streamlined' version.

In 1925 the 'Lucky Curve' nib assembly was replaced with a 'Duofold' nib, see the photograph from David Shepherd's excellent 'Duofold' book.  The 'Lucky Curve' barrel imprint was, however, retained for a couple of years, as on this pen.

Fully serviced and tested, it is a button filler, the pen is in superlative condition throughout.  Particularly noteworthy is the crisp imprint, excellent surface, vibrant colour, and sharp grooves on the end caps.

The nib has a fine to extra fine point, it writes well, with a fine firm line.  It would be well suited to someone with a small 'hand', or for more detailed work.  At the time the pen was made it may have been a good option for use with carbon paper.

Fully deserving of the epithet 'iconic', this 1920s Parker Duofold has rarity, condition, and quality, it is extremely collectable.
