The Yard O Led company is, as it's name suggests, better known for it's pencils but it did also produce some first class ballpoint pens such as this 1974 De Luxe.
The pen is in near mint condition and good working order. It has a full hallmark for the Birmingham assay office with a date cade for 1974 and the initials of Edward Baker, the silversmith used by Yard O Led.
The box is original, it has light age fading inside but is clean and sound, the original instruction leaflet is also included.
The pen is now fifty years old but has clearly seen very little use. The wavy line pattern is crisp and sharp and the surface is excellent. There are no dings, scratches, personalisation's, tarnishing etc.
This site is mainly concerned with fountain pens but a top quality, precious metal ballpoint in such outstanding condition is hard to resist. This is just about as good as they get!
