The Sheaffer Targa 1005, introduced in 1976, is constructed in brass with a deep cut fluted pattern in 23Ct. Gold electroplate. It is a full sized 'Classic' pen, the slim version is the 1005s.
The pen is in outstanding condition throughout and may well be unused, the sticker showing the model of pen and nib size is still in place and in pristine condition.
It has the 14Ct. gold 'inlaid diamond' nib with a fine point. The nibs were made 'from scratch' by Sheaffer, starting with ingots of 24Ct. Gold, copper and silver which were mixed to conform to the 14 Ct. standard.
The pen is a cartridge/converter filler, It is fitted with the original metal Sheaffer ink converter and a new ink cartridge will be included so the pen is ready to write in either configuration.
The pen came to me unboxed, as is often the case with unused pens, so I have provided a new, high quality presentation case which will serve well for transportation, protection, and display.
The Targa 1005 sat well towards the top of the Targa range. It is an outrageously attractive pen with the robustness and practicality to make an eye-catching daily writer.
