           Conway Stewart 84

The Conway Stewart 84 is an English lever filling fountain pen, made between 1953 and about 1958. It is finished in classic black with Gold filled clip, cap stud, cap band and lever.

The pen has been fully restored and is in good working condition throughout.  The ink sac was replaced as the old one had hardened with age.   It was the original Conway Stewart sac, showing that this was the first restoration and that the pen has not been used for decades.  The 84 is quite a 'chunky' pen and the barrel can accommodate a large size 19 ink sac, taking up a good volume of ink.

The pen has a deep shine, there is no discernible imprint,  sometimes pens turn up 'imprintless' for reasons now unknown, but it's size, shape, and trim level show it is a Conway Stewart 84.  The Gold filling has held up particularly well.

The Conway Stewart 14 Ct Gold nib is a size 4, larger than most and it is clearly stamped:

Conway Stewart 14Ct. Gold 4

It is an excellent writer, producing a smooth, medium line with a responsive flex. anyone with a decent 'hand' would enjoy the pen and produce impressive results.
