Conway Stewart Dinkie 540 in Blue Marble.

Regular price

The Conway Stewart Dinkie 540 was introduced in 1931, this pen is from the late 1930s, and was much more of a traditionally shaped English lever filler than the later 550 and 560 models.

This example is finished in marbled blue with Gold filled clip, lever, and cap band.  The surface is first class, the imprints are crisp and clear, and the gold filling has held up very well.  The overall condition of the pen is superb, it has probably seen very little use.

The pen has been restored to full working condition.  The filling system works well and the 14 Ct. Gold Conway Stewart nib writes with a fine line, and has a delightful soft feel with enough flex to add character to the writing.  It is a small pen but is quite comfortable in use when the cap is posted.

The older Dinkies are now very collectable and this one is a gem.
