Parker 51 Aerometric in Black. Excellent condition. super smooth nib.

Regular price £65.00

Parker introduced the aerometric filling system on the 51 in 1948.  The clip was shortened in 1951. The word 'Superchrome' was removed from the filler sleeve in 1957 and a 'halo' added to the cap in 1958.  This pen has no reference to 'Superchrome' and no halo, it is also imprinted 'Made in England' so this is a British Parker 51 Aerometric made in 1957.
The 'lucite' barrel and hood are finished in flawless classic Black and the 'Lustralloy' cap is ding free and is fitted with a 'short arrow' clip, pearl coloured end stud and engraved with the word:
'PARKER'.

The pen has been carefully cleaned, checked and fully tested.  The aerometric filling system works well and takes up a good amount of ink.
The 14 Ct. Gold nib has a fine point which lays down a smooth and consistent line, a very pleasant writer.  It is remarkable that Parker managed to achieve such smoothness with a fine pointed nib, most unusual.

At  sixty odd years old this is a remarkable top quality vintage pen. The 51 is the first choice of many collectors as a daily user, it is totally reliable, stylish and very practical with a great deal of prestige.
