This Cross Century II fountain pen was made in the factory at Ballinrasloe, County Galway, Ireland, 'Made in Ireland' is stamped on the cap. The Irish branch opened in 1973 and ceased production around 2000.
In excellent condition, the pen probably dates from the late 1980s. Tt has a gold plated bands and nib where the later 'Lustrous Chrome' model is all chromed.
It is a very solid, well made pen with an attractive fine lined chromed finish. At 13.5 cm. capped and an impressive 15.4cm. when posted it is a long, elegant pen with a well balanced, high quality feel.
A version of the Century II Chrome is still in production, although made in China, and the modern ink converters and cartridges will fit this pen and are readily available.
