The Parker 61 was introduced in 1956 and ran with only one major change until 1982. One of the original colours for the early capillary fillers was 'Charcoal', a good deal darker than the grey used in later pens. The 'halo' on the cap dates the pencil to after 1957. A comparison of the two colours is shown in the photograph, Charcoal at the bottom.
The eraser shows that the pencil has been used but the condition of the pen itself is immaculate. The plastic has a showroom finish, the cap is ding free, and the chromed cap and end 'jewel' are pristine.
The pencil is in excellent working order. It has a rotary action, the lead is extended and retracted by turning the cap.
