The Mabie Todd Swan 3350 was made, in England only in the years 1949-1950. The pen is very deep burgundy, Swan colour code 50, with Gold filled clip and triple cap bands.
It has been fullly restored and tested, the lever filling system takes up a good volume of ink and the correct 14Ct. Gold Swan No.3 nib writes with flex. With a light touch it produces a fine line, a little pressure gives a medium to broad line. In the right hands this gives a pleasing character to the writing, it's a pity my scrawl does it no justice.
The surface is excellent and the barrel imprint is crisp and clear. The filling lever shows a little pitting but the Gold fill on the clip and triple cap rings is in good order. The dark brown colour is particularly attractive, unfortunately it appears almost black in the photographs.
At over15 cm. posted it is a good sized and well balanced pen with a solid, high quality feel.
