Parker 51 Classic in Teal Blue

Regular price

The Parker 51 aerometric filling system was introduced in 1948.  In 1958 a 'halo' was added to the cap, and in 1960 the breather hole was moved to the side of the barrel. This pen has a 'halo' and an end breather hole so it can be dated to 1958/59.

The 51 is often described as 'the best pen ever made', it was often copied but never equalled.  This is an outstanding English example, it has an excellent Teal Blue finish and a 'Lustralloy' cap.

The Teal colour is most attractive, it is definitely Blue but has a distinct Green tinge, it is not a common '51' colour.

The lustralloy cap is ding free and is fitted with a 'short arrow' clip and simply engraved with:  'Parker'.  It is unusual in that it has a colour matched cap stud, it suits the pen very well and gives it some individuality.

The pen has been fully serviced and tested. The aerometric filling system works well, it is very simple and easy to use.

The 14 Ct. Gold nib has a medium point which lays down a super smooth and consistent medium line.  Just about all 51s are good writers but this one is exceptional, it is a pleasure to use, it's a pity my scrawl doesn't do it justice.

At sixty odd years old at least, this is a remarkable top quality vintage pen. The Parker 51 is the first choice of many collectors as a daily user, it is a totally reliable, stylish and very practical pen with a great deal of prestige.
