The Parker 65 Flighter De Luxe was introduced in 1970 and continued until 1982. In 1975 the plastic end studs were replaced by a metal version. This pen has the original pearl coloured platic studs and is dated 1972.
In excellent condition, it is presented in the original hard box along with the guarantee slip dated 29/9/1972.
A cartridge/converter filler, the pen is fitted with the original Parker slim metal ink converter and a new cartridge is included so the pen is ready to write in either configuration. The carrect converter is essential for this pen as the barrel will not accommodate the wider version.
The pen is constructed in brushed stainless steel with Gold trim and a spectacular 14 Ct. Gold nib. It writes with a very smooth broad line, with a pleasing 'soft' feel, the stub profile offering line width variation between the vertical and horizontal strokes. It is a great writer and a plleasure to use. It is also a well balanced and comfortable pen that was clearly built to a high standard.
A very robust pen, the solid, substantial steel construction and huge nib give the 65 an excellent high quality feel and character in abundance. It would make a first class every day vintage writer.
