Parker 75 Diamante. Immaculate New Old Stock.

Regular price

The Parker 75 Diamante was one of the prestigious 'Place Vendome' collection, made in Meru, France.  This is a superb example dating from the late 1980s.

The pen is in superb condition throughout, totally unmarked and with a very bright surface.  The Diamante pattern is quite different from the Cisele in that it consists of the same arrangement of squares but each is topped with a 'pyramid' giving a diamond like appearance, hence the name.  The facets catch the light and give a sparkling effect as the pen is turned in the hand.

The pen is fitted with an ink converter and a new ink cartridge will be included so the pen is ready to write in either configuration.

In the late 1980s the thin gold ring was added to the section and the section was changed from a sculpted three sided contour to a cylindrical shape with the grip part reduced to a smaller 'teardrop' shape, as on this pen.

This change to the shape was not simply a change of look, or a money saving exercise, but a significant improvement in the ink delivery system.  To accommodate a new style ink collector, or 'governor', as Parker called it, the section needed to be cylindrical.  This meant that the triangular section had to be replaced with a tubular shape, the grip 'teardrop' was added to continue to facilitate the advantages of a rotating nib.

As with many old stock pens the Diamante was unboxed so I have provided a high quality presentation box , it will serve well for transport, protection, and display.

The 'Diamante' 75 is one of the most attractive and opulent of the Place Vendome Parker 75s.   It is one of the least common of the finishes and is highly collectable.
