Parker Duofold Slimfold in Black. 1962-1968.

Regular price

The Parker Slimfold was added to the immensely successful Duofold range in 1962 and changed in 1968.  Despite the name the Slimfold is a very comfortable 14.7 cm. in length when posted for use, only marginally shorter than the Parker 51.  In use it is quite a long, and very elegant pen.

This pen is a superb example, it is finished in Classic Black, it has a deep shine and a very clear and crisp barrel imprint and the Gold trim is in excellent order.

The original Parker 14Ct. gold nib is straight and true.  It writes with a fine to medium line and has just a little flex, enough to give some line variation and add character to the writing.  Parker would have classified the nib as semi-flexible.

The cap is a smooth screw fit, it carries a Gold filled 'arrow' clip and a chevron decorated Gold filled cap band.  There are no cracks in the cap lip, this is a common and often undisclosed fault with Slimfolds, something to be very careful about.

The pen has been dismantled, thoroughly cleaned and checked inside and out and fully tested.  The Parker Slimfold is a much underrated vintage fountain pen It would make a really good, practical, every day vintage writer.

Whilst not a particularly rare pen, yet, the Slimfold is a high quality, Gold nibbed fountain pen with a good performance that has stood the test of time.
