The Parker Duofold Slimfold was added to the line of very successful U.K. Duofolds in1962. It was offered in just four solid colours: red, blue, black, and green with green being, by far, the least common, probably because of a common superstition, at the time, that green was unlucky.
The pen, which has a 14Ct. Gold medium nib, is new old stock and is in perfect condition throughout, it has a good surface with a clear barrel imprint and the Gold filling on the chevron decorated cap band and the clip is bright and shows no brassing. The original clear 'pli-glass' ink sac is unstained. The factory added chalk marks were meant to be wiped off by the retailer as the pen was sold, they are extremely fragile and would disappear rapidly as the pen was handled.
As with many old stock pens, it came to me unboxed, as the pens and boxes were matched at the point of sale. I have provided a new, high quality case which will serve well for transportation, protection, and display.
In the least common colour, and such outstanding condition, this pen is clearly of collectable quality, but would also make an unusual, attractive, and practical daily writer.
