Parker Lady in Blue

Regular price

The Parker Lady was introduced into the Parker Duofold line in 1958 as the 'Duofold Lady'.  In 1964 it was replaced with the '17 Lady' which was updated in 1968 to the 'Lady Standard'.  The pen was redesigned to include a Parker 45 style clip and a cap band at the very end of the cap which extended inside the cap.  This pen is this later version, the last of the Parker Ladies.

This is a fine example of a Parker Lady Standard fountain pen.  It is finished in Blue with Gold filled clip, cap stud, and clutch ring.

The pen is in excellent condition throughout, and in perfect working order.  It has a deep shine with a clear 'Parker' imprint around the cap lip.  The bright Gold filling is similarly pristine.

The 'Aerometric' filling system is efficient and easy to use.  The original 'pli-glass' in sac is unstained, suggesting that the pen has seen little use and has been carefully stored.

The pen has a 14Ct. Gold No. 4 nib which produces a medium to broad broad line, it is an 'easy' writer.  It is quite unusual in that it has a small but pleasing amount of flex which produces some line variation to add character to the lettering.

For an aspiring collector the Parker Lady is a good starting point.  There are only four colours: Black, Blue, Red and Green, and three models so a complete collection is twelve pens.  This excludes the Gold filled 'Insignia'.

Although the Parker Lady is not a particularly rare vintage pen, mainly due to its success in the global market, it is nevertheless not easy to find one in such excellent condition.
