The Parker Sonnet was introduced in 1994 as a replacement for the Parker 75. The first release included three pens with a lacquered finish: Laque Autumn Red, Laque Midnight Blue, and Laque Forest Green, this pen. The pen carries a date code for the second quarter of 1994 so it was one of the earliest Sonnets. The three early laque finishes were dicontinued in 1998.
The Forest Green finish is produced by applying multiple coats of lacquer to obtain a hard, high gloss and hard wearing surface, in this case a striking mottled Green. The pen also features a 'Dimonite' trim, this is a coating of 50% Gold and 50% Titanium.
The pen is in excellent consition with only very light usage marks, it has a deep shine and bright gold trim.
A cartridge/converter filler, the pen is fitted with a Parker slide converter and will be provided with a new ink cartridge so it is ready to write in either configuration. It produces a really smooth medium line and is a pleasure to use.
The Parker Sonnet was very successful and is still made today but these early 'Laque' pens are, by far, amongst the most collectable.
