The Parker Victory Mk.V. made it's debut in 1953 as Parker introduced the 'aerometric' filling system to all the U.K. Duofolds, made in the Parker Newhaven factory. The pen was available in four solid colours: Black, Blue, Green, and Red, all with rolled Gold trim and a 14Ct. Gold nib. This pen carries a barrel imprint with a date code for 1954.
Finished in Blue, this pen is an outstanding example. At 15.5 cm. in length with the cap posted, it is a very good sized, well balanced and handsome pen with a solid and well made feel. The surface is excellent, it has a showroom finish a clear barrel imprint, and bright Gold filling. The original 'Pli-Glass ink sac is unstined. The cap, which has a blue end stud, is a smooth screw fit, tightening with one and a half turns.
The pen has been fully serviced and tested, the filling system works well and the correct 14Ct. Gold number 10 nib, which also bears a 1954 date stamp, writes with a smooth medium line, perhaps a little on the fine side. There is a suggestion of flex, just enough to add some character to the writing.
The Mk. V. was the last of the Parker Victory pens, by the time it was made the name 'Victory' had lost much of it's relevance. A pen in this condition is clearly collectable but it is also a practical pen that is a good candidate as a vintage daily writer.
