The Pelikan M200 Blue Marbled model was introduced in 1988 and the W-Germany stamp ended in 1990 with German unification. This Blue Marbled pen has the W-Germany imprint on the cap band, indicting that it was made between these dates. The '2 chick', etched imprint on the Derby cap is also consistent with this date.
The pen is new old stock, it is immaclate in all respects and shows no signs of use or handling marks. The barrel and cap have a showroom finish, as does the gold filling, and the piston is unstained.
As is often the case with new old stock pens, which are only matched with a box at the point of sale, the pen came to me unboxed. I have provided a new, high quality box which will serve well for transportation, protection, and display.
It is a testament to the design and build quality of these pens that the have changed very little over the decades. The 'old style' Pelikans, as pre 1997 models are known, are now highly collectable.
