Sheaffer's 'Grapes and Leaves' design, actually called the 'Golden Vintage' is one of the most attractive and collectable finishes in the whole Sheaffer Imperial range from the 1970s. This remarkable pen is finished in high relief 12 Ct. Gold fill, the pattern harks back to the William Morris textile designs of the 19th. century, hence the correct Sheaffer name for this model.
The pen came to me as new old stock and, as is often the case, it was unboxed so I have provided a new, high quality display case.
The pen, with a 'reminder' clip, is in immaculate condition and perfect working order, the sticker describing the pen is still intact. The clip operates in a way that prevents the pen being clipped onto a pocket with the point exposed, it reminds the user to retract the point.
Although the pen was produced about 50 years ago the unique high relief design and deep gold colour give the impression of a much older vintage. It is a beautiful, tactile and most desirable pen with a degree of collectability seldom found in ballpoint pens.
