The Sheaffer Lady 620 was produced, in the U.S.A., during the late sixties and early seventies. It is a top of the range of the Sheaffer Lady model. This is a super example, a complete, boxed set comprising a fountain pen, ballpoint, and pencil. It is in excellent condition throughout.
The set is of brushed steel construction with a Chrome plated clip which carries the Sheaffer 'white Dot' mark of quality. The cap is finished with an ornate 'Florentine' cap band in polished Chrome and has an inset 'Stylpoint' nib with a medium point.
A cartridge/converter filler, the pen is fitted with the original ink converter for use with bottled ink, Sheaffer ink cartridges are readily available.
The pencil is working well, it has a rotary mechanism, operated by turning the cap to extend and retract the lead.
The ballpoint, which has a small, shallow dint in the side of the cap, will be fitted with a new refill prior to delivery. It features the patented Sheaffer 'reminder clip', it operates in a way that doesn't allow the pen to be clipped to a pocket with the point exposed, preventing ink stains on the shirt.
The pen is supplied in the original Sheaffer presentatiion case. The close catch is quite stiff and loud but it works well and the box is in good, clean condition.
Despite its name, at 14.5 cm. posted for use the 620 is not a particularly small pen and is very comfortable in the hand with an exceptionally solid feel. It is very difficult to find a complete triple set.
