The Waterman Maestro was introduced in 1990 as a higher specification alternative to the Laureate.
The set, comprising a fountain pen and ballpoint, is constructed in brass with a multi layered lacquered finish and Gold filled trim. The 'gunmetal' coloured lacquer has a very deep lustre and is unmarked, as is the Gold fill.
Unlike the Laureate, which has a push fit to post the cap, the Maestro has a click mechanism which protects the barrel from friction scratches and ensures a secure fit. When posted the pen is an impressive 15.5 cm. in length, it is a long, elegant pen.
The Gold plated nib has a medium point with a generous amount of tipping material. It writes with a super smooth, medium line. The matching ballpoint has a push cap action, it is fitted with a new refill. The Waterman presentation case is also in pristine condition.
The set is in remarkable condition throughout, it may well be unused.
