The Conway Stewart 84 is an English lever filling fountain pen, made between 1953 and about 1958. It is finished in classic black with Gold filled clip, cap stud, cap band and lever.
The pen has been fully restored and is in good working condition throughout. The ink sac was replaced as the old one had hardened with age. It was the original Conway Stewart sac, showing that this was the first restoration and that the pen has not been used for decades.
The cap is a scre fit, it tightens with just a half turn but is secure and posts well on the barrel when the pen is in use.
The pen shows light user marks but has a deep shine, with a clear barrel imprint, the Gold filling to the clip, cap stud, and filling lever has held up particularly well. The lever has a lock down arrangement, the lever 'clicks' into place flush with the barrel.
The 14Ct. Gold nib produces a a smooth, medium line with a pleasing 'soft' feel.
