The Conway Stewart Dinkie 526 was made from the llate 1920s to the early 1930s. The ealy pens were characterised by thee lack of a knurled section on the cap and raised cap bands, as on this 526C pen.
The pen has been restored and tested and is in good working condition. It is finished in blue, perhaps a little faded, but it has a good surface and the imprint is particularly strong. The gold filling to the cap bands and the lever has held up very well.
Fitted with a new ink sac, the filling system works well and the 14Ct. Gold nib writes with a smooth line and has a good amount of flex, adding character to the writing. Someone with a decent 'hand' could produce impressive results.
The early Conway Stewart Dinkies are now highly collectable.
