Parker 17 Pencil in Blue. Immaculate New Old Stock

Regular price £50.00

The Parker 17 was introduced in 1962 and ran for about a decade, it was available as a fountain pen pencil, and ballpoint.  the pencil was often matched with a fountain pen as a set, but was popular enough to also be offered as a 'stand alone' item.

This pencil, in blue with gold trim, is genuine new old stock, part of a batch of unsold Parkers from a long defunct stationers shop.  As with many old stock pens and pencils it is unboxed, it would have only been matched with a box at the point of sale.

The manufacturer's 'chalk marks', actually wax, were intended as an aid to the retailer and meant to be wiped off when the pencil was sold.  They are very fragile and would erode rapidly as the pencil was handled.

The pencil is absolutely 'as new' with a factory finish, full set of spare leads, and a clear imprint.  The leads, which are accessed by removing the eraser, are fitted through the 'cone'.  It has a smooth twist action, operated by turning the cap to exspel and retract the lead.

The 17 was so popular and robust that there are quite a few 'survivors' but it is very unusual to find one in such remarkable condition, it is of collectable quality.
