The Sheaffer'S Scripsert was introduced in 1958 and, in 1964 the last 'S' was dropped from the company name so it became, simply ,Sheaffer', so the pencil can be dated between 1958 and 1964.
In totally immaculate condition, this is one of a small batch of unsold Sheaffer pencils, it shows no signs of use and no handing marks. The eraser is unused, I have not attempted to remove it as old erasers can become brittle with age and I thought it best not to risk it on a pencil that is, at least, sixty four years old.
The pencil has a rotary action, the cap is turned to extend and retract the lead, this is rarely found on modern pencils, which are usually the cheaper, and more fragile click action design.
