The Waterman Phileas, made for a relatively short time between 1995 and 1999, has a unique design that harks back to the Art Deco movement.
At 13.6 cm. capped and 14.7 cm. posted with a cap diameter of 1.5 cm., it is a good sized, very 'chunky' pen. The large gold plated innersprung clip and 'cigar' bandon the barrel are particularly distinctive features.
This example, finished in an attractive marbled combination of red, burgundy, and pink, has Gold filled trim and a two tone nib. It has a tiny amout of pitting on the nib but is otherwise in excellent working condition. the cap is a push fit, closing with a satisfying 'click'.
A cartridge/converter filler, it writes with a smooth line, perhaps a little on the broad side of medium. a new ink cartridge is provided with the pen so it is ready to write. It accepts standard Waterman cartridges, which are readily available online.
With it's quirky style, good writing abilty, and striking colour, the Phileas would make an unusual and attractive daily writer.
